ITINERARY

 

·         8:30am - 9:45am Pick up.
Your Day will start with a pick up from your hotel, or your nominated place of pick up (refer schedule)

 

·         10:00am Arrive at Marae

-       Traditional Maori Welcome.

-       Learn some Maori language via song and conversation.

-       Morning tea.

-       Hear of Maori history and its heritage within New Zealand.

-       Interact with Maori craftsmen and women.

-       Touch and feel the art of wood carving.

     -       Create your own woven flax keepsake.


.     12.00pm Arrive at the Auckland Museum

      - Be fully guided on the splendor and the history of He Taonga Maori (Maori Treasures)

      -This gallery contains over 1000 artefacts from around Aotearoa ( New Zealand) which date back to the settlement of the Maori.

      -(Please note there is a Maori Cultural Performance at 12.00. This is optional and at your own cost. $25 per person. $12.50 for Children) 25mins Approx.

      -  We will have a short stop here at the Atrium Cafe for a quick bite or coffee. At your own costs. Sandwiches from $3.50.

 

·         1:30pm  Arrive at Auckland Zoo

-    Be amazed by the native encounter. Be close up and personal with the Kiwi in this fabulous show.

-       Be guided through our native flora and fauna.

-       See the iconic ‘Kiwi wildlife’, the cheeky Kea, the prehistoric Tuatara and more.

-       Visit the New Zealand Centre for Conservation Medicine

  •     3:30pm (approx) Mount Eden (Maungawhau)

-       Last photo opportunity of the day from Auckland’s highest peak.

      -    Take shots of the volcanic crater, with the Hauraki Gulf in the background.

 

·          4:00pm Drive through the world famous One Tree Hill (Maungakiekie)

-         Learn the significance of the park to both Maori and European cultures, from its beginning as a Maori fortress, to the spectacular park and working city farm it is today.

  

·         5:00pm (approx) Bastion Point

-       Hear of the turbulent history of this place, while overlooking the mighty Waitemata Harbour.

      -   Visit the Sir Michael Joseph Savage Memorial. New Zealands first Labour Prime Minister.


 

·         5:30pm  Tour conclusion at Auckland’s Sky City Tower or your hotel.
