Toru Tours Covid-19 Safety Protocols.

Hygiene Safety Regulations for Customers

  • Masks: Not mandatory. The current advice from the New Zealand Government Department of Health is that masks are not mandatory for customers, although they do increase protection against the spread of the virus.

  • Social Distancing: Maintain distance of at least 1.5 meters.

  • Health Declaration: Customers may be asked to provide contact information like mobile phone numbers for immediate and quick contact tracing.

Hygiene Safety Regulations for Staff

  • Masks:  Not mandatory. The current advice from the New Zealand Government Department of Health is that face masks must be worn by business staff only if social distancing measures of at least 1.5m cannot be maintained. 

  • Personal hygiene: Hands need to be cleaned regularly with soap and water.

  • Social distancing: Maintain distance of at least 1.5 meters.

  • Medical check up: Employees will be going through regular medical examinations. Those who feel unwell and/or have fever must stay home.  

Operations Safety Regulations 

  • Signage and poster to communicate to visitors and staff safe distancing and health measures.  

  • Staff needs to be trained in operations for hygiene safety. They need to ensure that visitors/customers are well-informed of the degree of exposure to COVID-19 risk within the activity and the need for following risk controls.

  • Cleaning of the Bus and venues visited by the operator is increased, hand sanitizers placed in strategic locations, and clean air/regular ventilation need to be ensured for indoor places.

  • All businesses must keep records to facilitate contact tracing.

Where do I meet from a cruise ship?

From  Dockings at  Princes Wharf. Meet at the Princes Wharf iSite (information centre) 150 metres or 165 yards from the exit of the terminal at 9.50 for morning or 1.30 for Afternoon.

Will there be much Walking?

On most of the tour no, however at Mt Eden there is a short 7 minute walk to the top. 10minutes if of average fitness. This is optional.

What are the cool things to see?

We see volcanoes, a working farm, Auckland’s most expensive house, and much more.

Do you speak in multiple languages?

The tour is conducted in English, however as it is a very visual tour we have found that our guests need very little English.

Do you pick up from hotels?

Yes only from the city, 15 minutes before the tour starts. Please let know though which hotel you are staying at.

Can you take Wheel chairs and/or Electric Scooters?

Yes we do have space for 2 of each, and the scooters will need to be able to fold down. Please note guests will still need to be able to climb 2 steps into the vehicle.
